Your day starts, you finish taking care of your morning duties, and the beat of the day has already begun.
You pause for a moment as you start your car, the sun has come up over the horizon, and now it is time to start your workday. Your drive to work is scenic and the city is keeping time with your rythm.
You arrive with a few minutes to spare, and your brain kicks up a notch. This deal is the one that makes or breaks a career. You stop to straighten your tie in the reflection on the door. The secretary looks lost for a minute and there is brief tension while the misunderstanding gets worked out.
You are shown into the head bosses office, and you start your pitch. You recite your pitch flawlessly, and answer all questions even before they are asked.
This isn't your A game, this is fate, this is purpose, this is the first day of the rest of your life. You have accomplished what you set out to do, but there is no celebration.
This is but one day, one conquest, and tomorrow there will be another day, another conquest. Your drive home is uneventful, you are still in your beat until your head hits your pillow, and then you drift off to sleep, to face Tuesday.
